Wedding Flowers - Frequently Asked Questions

What types of wedding flowers do you offer?

May Floral can provide all your wedding flowers from personal flowers (bouquets, boutonnieres and corsages) to reception centerpieces and ceremony arrangements.

Where are you located?

We have a by-appointment office in Chicago's River North neighborhood, and a production space in Evanston. We typically meet with clients at our River North office, or at a mutually convenient location like a coffee shop or restaurant.

What is your service area?

May Floral would be happy to deliver wedding flowers throughout Chicagoland area and the Midwest.

What is the process like for someone considering wedding flowers from May Floral?

First, we set up a complimentary consultation. At the meeting, we will talk about your vision of your wedding and come up with ideas together. After our meeting, a proposal with description of services and pricing information will be sent to you. If you like the proposal, we both sign an agreement to secure the date for your event.

What should I bring to my wedding consultation?

Color swatches, pictures of flowers you like, descriptions of wedding party attire and any other information that you think would be helpful for us to design your flowers. If you have a Pinterest board, please send us the link.

How would you describe your style?

Our style is elegant, romantic and nature-inspired. We think flowers are inherently beautiful and believe in preserving their natural shape, color and texture. Whimsical elements and gorgeous yet unusual flowers are mainstays in our design aesthetic.

Do you provide flowers for gay and lesbian weddings?

Yes, we are happy to work with all brides and grooms.

What are your payment terms?

An initial deposit of 25% of the invoice is required to secure the wedding date. This deposit will be applied towards your total invoice price. Because we order your flowers ahead of time, we require a final count and payment 3 weeks prior to the wedding.

Can I make changes to the design proposal after we sign the contract?

Yes, we can continue to work together to plan your wedding flowers until 3 weeks before your date. Please note that prices will be adjusted accordingly.

How much do wedding flowers cost?

Beautiful flower arrangements are possible at any budget. The most important factor in a floral budget is the number of arrangements that are needed. The cost of floral design also depend on factors such as season, materials and complexity. When we meet, we can offer suggestions to ensure you do not exceed your budget.

Why are flowers so expensive? And why isn't there just a list of what things cost?

Flower prices are one of those things that fluctuates every day, unfortunately. They can go up and down based on gas prices, natural disasters around the world, seasonal variation, a celebrity got married with a particular type of flower and now demand has increased, etc.
